John C. Lane — Vice President & Chief Investment Officer

John C. Lane

John joined The Ohio State University Investment Office in October of 2014 as the Chief Investment Officer and is responsible for the investment management of the $3.5 billion Long Term Investment Pool. 

Prior to joining Ohio State, John was the Chief Investment Officer of the $90 billion Ohio Public Employee Retirement System in Columbus, Ohio since January 2010.  From 2002 to 2009, he was the Director of Investments, Worldwide, at the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York.  Previous to Kodak, John was the Chief Investment Officer of the $55 billion Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania beginning in 1989.

John earned his BS and MBA from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  


Scott Adams, CFA, — Senior Director of Investments, Liquid Strategies

Scott Adams, CFA,

Scott focuses on liquid investments for the Long-Term Investment Pool, to include public equities, fixed income, and liquid alternatives. 

Prior to joining Ohio State in 2007, Scott was vice president and senior portfolio manager at Huntington National Bank, responsible for day-to-day investment management decisions for endowments, foundations, and high net-worth individuals.

Scott graduated from Franklin University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.


Edward Zimmer III, CFA — Investment Analyst

Edward Zimmer III, CFA

Eddie focuses on liquid investments for the Long-Term Investment Pool, which include public equities, fixed income, and liquid alternatives.

Prior to joining Ohio State in 2015, Eddie worked as an investment analyst at Hamilton Capital Management where he was responsible for investment strategy and macro research for the $1.5 billion portfolio. As a member of the Investment Council, Eddie’s primary focus was European equities and manager due diligence. Prior to Hamilton, Eddie worked as a hedge fund accountant at Citigroup.

Eddie received a BS in both Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Dayton and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.


Albert Adom — Investment Analyst

Albert Adom

Albert focuses on liquid investments for the Long-Term Investment Pool, which includes public equities, fixed income, and liquid alternatives.

Prior to joining Ohio State in 2017, Albert worked as an economic analyst for Parker Hannifin Corporation, where he conducted macro and industrial economic research and forecasts, and supported the treasury function. Most recently, at The Townsend Group, Albert worked as an advisory investment analyst for an endowment, state, and city pension plans and with over $30 billion in advised assets.

Albert received a BA in Finance from Cleveland State University and passed the Level II Exam of the CFA Program in 2016.


Samir Sidani — CAIA, CFA, Senior Director of Investments

Samir Sidani

Samir focuses on illiquid investments for the Long-Term Investment Pool, to include private equity, natural resources, real estate, infrastructure, and private credit.

Prior to joining Ohio State in 2016, Samir led the $9 billion private equity allocation at the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). Prior to joining OPERS in 2006, Samir worked at National City Bank from 2002 to 2006 in their private client group and as an analyst for their private equity and hedge fund of funds.

Samir received a BA in Economics from the University of Rochester, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation as well as the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.


Brad Carr — CAIA, CFA, Senior Investment Analyst

Brad Carr

Brad focuses on illiquid investments for the Long-Term Investment Pool, to include private equity, natural resources, real estate, infrastructure, and private credit.

Prior to joining Ohio State in 2016, Brad was an analyst on the private equity team at the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) covering buyout, co-investment, venture, secondary, and credit strategies.  Prior to joining OPERS in 2012, Brad helped manage client portfolios as an analyst/trader for PDS Planning and conducted equity research as an associate at Diamond Hill Capital Management, both located in Columbus, Ohio.

Brad received a BS in Finance from The Ohio State University, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation as well as the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.


Renee Schlade, CPA — Director of Operations

Renee Schlade, CPA

Renee joined The Ohio State University Office of Investments in September 2016 as Director of Investment Operations and is responsible for operations and risk management within the Office of Investments.

Prior to joining Ohio State, Renee was Chief Operating Officer at CentraComm Communications Ltd. from 2009 – 2016, setting financial policy and strategic direction, previously holding Chief Financial Officer and controller rolls in other private sector organizations leading their accounting teams in oversight and preparation of financial reporting, planning, and budgeting.  Renee began her career in public accounting as an associate with Plante & Moran, PLLC where she was an auditor and management consultant specializing in the health and human services industry.

Renee graduated with honors from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting.  She holds the Certified Public Accountant designation.
